WARD ADMINISTRATOR IN A PSYCHIATRIC ENVIRONMENT

Job Purpose

To deliver effective and efficient supportive administrative tasks in the ward, ensuring optimum patient care and service delivery.

Minimum Requirements

• Proven work experience as an Administrative Officer, Administrator or similar role.
• PC Literacy – MS Office, Internet & Emails – Experience in Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
• Must be bilingual, where one language must be English.
• Grade 12 certificate.

Recommend-

• Qualification in Office Administration.
• Solid knowledge of office procedures.
• Experience in the health industry.

Job Specifications

• Provide an effective and efficient telephone service.
• Attend to departmental matters proactively and professionally.
• Deliver an effective and efficient general ward administration service.
• Administration of all patients during admissions.
• Administration of all patients during discharges.
• Proactively liaise with other departments to ensure customer satisfaction at all times.
• To utilise financial resources effective and efficiently.
• To promote a culture of learning and growth.

Skills Requirements

• Familiarity with office organisation and optimisation techniques.

NURSE UNIT MANAGER

Job Purpose

To ensure the effective and efficient management of a ward, its strategic goals, finances and personnel. Also to provide consultation, facilitation and communication with MHCU’s, Multi-disciplinary team and employees in order to add good nursing practices and outcomes.

Minimum Requirements
  • Tertiary qualification equivalent to NQF 6: Diploma in Nursing [Qualified and registered as a Professional Nurse with SANC].
  • Tertiary qualification equivalent to NQF 8: Bachelor of Nursing [Qualified and registered as a Professional Nurse with SANC].
  • PC Literacy (MS Office, Internet & Emails)
  • Fluent in English, read and write
Recommend-
ations
  • Qualification in psychiatry
  • 7-10 years solid experience as a Registered Professional Nurse.
  • 5-10 years solid experience in a Psychiatric environment.
  • 2-5 years solid experience in management.
