Specialized Psych Treatment Without Overnight Stay
Vista Clinic now offers a partial hospitalization programme which provides an alternative and cost effective day-service for patients to receive therapeutic input from a multi-disciplinary team without the need for overnight hospitalization. This more focused and individualized approach to therapy may include the following elements as needed:
- Admission interview and discussion of partial hospitalisation programme
- Individual consultations
- Psychoeducational classes
- Occupational Therapy
- Music Therapy
- Post-discharge planning
- Lunch included
The Programme
The programme is structured to your patient’s needs.
08:00 – Admission and morning check-in with the Facilitator
09:00 – Group*
10:15 – Tea Break
11:00 – Group*
12:15 – Lunch
13:15 – OT Activity/ Group*
15:00 – End of Day and Discharge
*Patients attend psychoeducational as well as process-and occupational groups. Group topics are aimed at the development of suited social-and life skills.
This is a 5-day rolling programme allowing patients to start on any day of the week:
starting at 08:00 and concluding at 15:00
Monday to Friday.

DBT informed group ‘Mood Disorders with Emotion Dysregulation’

Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) is a cognitive-behavioural approach grounded in dialectical philosophy, which seeks to reconcile seemingly opposing ideas to uncover a harmonious truth. In essence, DBT aims to help individuals build a life worth living by improving their emotional regulation, interpersonal relationships, and overall quality of life. Notably, it has demonstrated efficacy not only in Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD) but also in addressing various other conditions such as Depression, Anxiety, Substance Misuse, and Eating Disorders.
The program comprises out of 6 session structured around the pillars of DBT (mindfulness, distress tolerance, emotion regulation, and interpersonal effectiveness). It is recommended to attend all the sessions.
These 6 sessions run over two weeks.
Week 1: Tuesday 16:00 – 19:00, Wednesday 16:00 – 19:00, Thursday 16:00 – 19:00 and
Week 2: Tuesday 16:00 – 19:00, Wednesday 16:00 – 19:00, Thursday 16:00 – 19:00.
Allowing for homework and self-application.
- The size of the group is between 6 and 12 participants.
- The program runs every 4 weeks, depending on referrals and demand.
- The program is predominantly for partially admitted patients who meet the inclusion criteria.
- Program is paid from in-hospital benefits of medical aid or cash payment.
