Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) is a cognitive-behavioural approach grounded in dialectical philosophy, which seeks to reconcile seemingly opposing ideas to uncover a harmonious truth. DBT centres around four key elements: mindfulness, distress tolerance, emotion regulation, and interpersonal effectiveness. In essence, DBT aims to help individuals build a life worth living by improving their emotional regulation, interpersonal relationships, and overall quality of life. Notably, it has demonstrated efficacy not only in Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD) but also in addressing various other conditions such as Depression, Anxiety, Substance Misuse, and Eating Disorders.

  • Identify and regulate unhelpful patterns
  • Recognise, understand and manage difficult emotions
  • Strategise and develop better coping skills and mechanisms
  • Develop interpersonal effectiveness
  • Develop distress tolerance and a better sense of self

  • Therapy in small groups between 8 – 12 members
  • Groups presented in 6 convenient, after hour sessions
  • Presented at Vista Clinic
  • 135 Gerhard Street, Centurion
